St. Gregory is best known for his love of plainsong or plainchant that has become so strongly associated with the Saint that this form of music is referred to as “Gregorian Chant”. He is also one of four Great Doctors of the Latin Catholic Church.

Interesting Facts:
St. Gregory was the first monk to become Pope. He was the Pope who sent St. Augustine of Canterbury to evangelize England.
